Sammy Bonsu, PhD
Sammy currently chairs our Board of Directors. He was at one time an Associate Professor and former Director of the PhD Program in Marketing at the Schulich School of Business, York University in Canada. Sammy brings a wealth of experience in providing advisory services to public and private sector companies and has a strong research background.
He has undertaken various consultancy assignments in Africa and Europe. Sammy was a Principal Investigator at Willie-Sam Consulting Enterprises, a consultancy firm that he founded in 1993. As a Process Improvement and Budget Analyst at Canadian Airlines in Vancouver, he was responsible for business analysis and implementation of process improvement techniques across business units.
He holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island in the USA and a Master of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University in Canada. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Prince Edward Island in Canada. Prior to moving to Canada, he attended the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.
Jerome C. Eshun
Jerome was at one time the Managing Director of NTHC Properties Limited on secondment from the Social Security and National Trust (SSNIT) prior to his retirement. Jerome spent more than twenty years in various capacities at SSNIT, rising to the rank of General Manager in the office of the Director General.
His other leadership positions at SSNIT were as Head of Treasury responsible for Cash and Liquidity Management, Planning, Money Market Operations and Risk Management; and Deputy Head in charge of Project Appraisal, Monitoring and Evaluation for projects relating to Banking, Real Estates, Manufacturing Sectors, and Hotels.
He has served on various Boards in the country including erstwhile Merchant Bank Ghana Limited, Ambassador Hotel, Golden Beach Hotels (Elmina Beach Hotel), NTHC Horizon Fund, Makola Market Company Limited, First Atlantic Merchant Bank, RSS Developers Limited and Lower Pra Rural Bank.
He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from GIMPA, Postgraduate Certificate in Investment Appraisal from Harvard University (HIID) and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Ghana.
Fred Nuerte Nuer
Nuerte is a Founder and Chief Executive Officer.
He has over 16 years experience in Investment Banking, Consulting and the Public Sector in Ghana and the UK. Prior to founding Cornerstone he was a Director of Cornerstone Advisors Ltd, a Management Consulting firm in the UK. Nuerte started his Investment Banking career in 1994 as an Analyst at Strategic African Securities (SAS) where he gained extensive experience in equity and debt trading, privatisation, economic and capital market research amongst others.
In 1998, he left his position as Head of Securities Trading and Research at SAS to Head SDC Brokerage Services Ltd. In SDC, Nuerte undertook major corporate finance transactions in the areas of corporate valuation, private placements, arranged the first debt equity swap between SSNIT and the Government of Ghana and other advisory services for institutions. He also established the Research Department which became a leader in publishing economic research for corporate clients and emerging market funds. He worked in the public sector where he was involved in policy research analysis, business strategy, business transformation programmes and project management.
Nuerte graduated from the University of Ghana with a BA (Hons) degree in Economics and Accounting in 1993 and obtained his MBA (Finance) from the University of Durham Business School in 2003.

Judith Quartey
Judith is the Chief Operating Officer of the Asset Management division.
She has 15 years banking experience. She has held various senior positions in HBOS, Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds TSB in the retail, corporate banks and the Debt Capital Markets.
She worked with the Investment Bank ABN AMRO as Assistant Director in the Structured Portfolio Finance Division working particularly with clients within the EMEA region and specifically within the Leveraged Finance Market. She worked mostly on structuring Project Finance deals for global firms such as BP’s BTC Pipeline, Imperial Energy, Wind Telecom, Mestre Hospital and Pakistan Mobile among others. Judith brings a wealth of experience in client relationship management and institutional fund management.
She holds a Master of Business Administration from the IE Madrid Business School, a BA from the University of Ghana and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from the Institute of Financial Services. Judith is multi lingual speaking French and Spanish fluently.
Samuel Nuer
Samuel is the Vice President, Investment Banking (Head of Compliance).
Prior to joining us he served as a Research Analyst in one of Ghana's leading Fund Management firms where he gained significant experience in economic and stock market research analysis. As a lead Research Analyst he established the research department where he developed models and published macroeconomic research papers. He had oversight responsibility for the Information Technology (IT) systems in FirstBanC.
He worked as a portfolio analyst in the Asset Management department with responsibility for investment, risk assessments and performance analysis for their Funds and other customized investment portfolios for private wealth clients. He holds a BA (Hons) degree in Economics and Geography from the University of Ghana.
Gordon Adisenu-Doe
Gordon Adisenu-Doe, CFA, Director of Corporate Finance.
He has several years of experience in Business Development, Private Equity, Consulting and Project Management working with the Black Business Initiative in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Prior to that, he worked as an Electrical Engineer with the Design and Construction Division, Electricity Corporation of Ghana in Accra, Ghana.
Gordon joined the Black Business Initiative (BBI), Halifax, Nova Scotia as a Regional Business Development Manager in July 2001 and was appointed the Director of Business Development in 2005. At the Black Business Initiative (BBI), he managed a portfolio of clients (debt/equity investments) and provided them with business development support, conducted investment appraisals, private equity valuations and equity and industry research, program design and project management. He was the lead person developing BBI’s strategic initiatives, including restructuring of the organization, set-up and management of a Community Economic Development Investment Fund and a consulting practice, Black Business Consulting. Gordon is an Adjunct Finance Lecturer at the Sobey Business School, Saint Mary’s University Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada since 2002.
Gordon graduated from the University of Science and Technology, Ghana with a B.SC (Hons) degree in Electrical Engineering in 1994 and obtained his MBA (Finance) from the Sobey Business School, Saint Mary University Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in 2001. Gordon holds Project Management Professional (PMP) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations.
